Una nueva generación de consolas está a punto de llegar al mercado y la próxima edición de la Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), feria que se celebrará entre el 7 y el 9 de junio en Los Ángeles, será el marco en el que se conocerán más detalles sobre las sucesoras de Wii y PSP.
Con el nombre en clave de "Project Café", la nueva videoconsola de sobremesa de Nintendo ha hecho correr ríos de tinta en internet en los últimos meses, donde expertos y aficionados apuntan a que la sucesora de la Wii 2 será tan potente, o más, como la Xbox 360 y la PlayStation 3 y podría incluir mandos con una pantalla táctil incorporada, informa Efe.
Detalles técnicos aparte, lo cierto es que Nintendo solo ha confirmado de momento que la consola llegará al mercado en 2012. Su presentación durante el E3, donde los asistentes podrán probar por primera vez la consola, desvelará información sobre la estrategia de un hardware que, dependiendo de su catálogo inicial, podría recuperar el mercado de los jugadores habituales.
El segundo plato fuerte de la feria vendrá de la mano de Sony y su NGP (Next Generation Portable), la sucesora de la PSP de la que se conocerán más detalles durante un evento que tendrá lugar el lunes, un día antes del inicio oficial de la feria. En este evento se espera que Sony confirme el nombre definitivo de la consola –PlayStation Vita, según todas las apuestas–, fecha de salida al mercado, precio y si los juegos de la actual PSP serán compatibles con el nuevo invento.
Con expectación, por lo poco que se sabe de esta cita hasta ahora, aguardan público y analistas la conferencia de Microsoft, que podría dar la sorpresa con el anuncio de la sucesora de la Xbox 360 o de una portátil o limitarse a presentar las últimas novedades en torno a Kinect.
